With renovation ideas brewing for years, a neighbouring tenancy becoming available became the trigger for realisation.
With the interior catching sun refracting of the water and the gums dancing in silhouette, the opportunity to build upon a waterfront venue offering artisan coffee was too great to pass up, offering guests added seating capacity, proper kitchen capacity, and bar for liquor service.

A colour palette that sets in tone as a canvas in contrast to the blue-greens of the river setting, with notes of something almost out of Arizona as a styling ques. Balanced with a mixture of raw and polished materials to infuse a contemporary setting along the terrace.

Working with existing elements everywhere possible, careful attention was given to placing workspaces and stations for staff efficiencies. Textures and materials were diligently applied throughout, abutting up to existing forms and surfaces for a unified result.

Banquette seating was re-wrapped and rotated along the wall catching the sun. The existing cafe curved bulkhead was not only kept, but extended into adjacent tenancy to tie cafe & takeaway space to the bar and dining.

Exisitng tile floors were utilised and modified to blend the junction to polished concrete, with ceilings overhead removed to expose slab in mirror effect, with all services reticulated in copper for contrast.

The bar, impressive 7-meter coffee/beverage line, and take-away order are all a linear continuation of the next, yet shapeshift in form and material as they progress through for effect of separation.
