Rooftop Cocktail Bar

With a highly challenging tenancy size, the vision required very careful and thoughtful design planning to create intimacy and variance in a tiny space.

The hand picked wine list, intentional menu paired with curated cocktail list required a space that provided the perfect setting to compliment. A layout and material selection was developed with a conscious balance for circulation of patron and staff flow, while separating the compact kitchen and bar areas with pockets of intimate seating allowing variety of dining styles of limited capacity.

A canvas of micro-cement is cut by a textural rock backdrop, contrasted by a burl timbers throughout entry and wrapping a cozy booth seat. Adorned with screen and woven fabrics, frames a solid single statement bar piece of dolomite stone, with polished curves that that provide counter seating and celebrate beverage execution. Plate-stainless steel counters, stations and custom refrigeration mirror custom bottle shelving and an integrated kitchen service area.
A custom retractable roof over the arbor balcony provides weather protection without detracting from the treetops and sea breeze of the Coolum Beach backdrop.
