A family-owned and operated fruit shop, Ash and Monica have taken the leap to expand their business. After several months of careful planning, Hiller reimagined the layout within the existing building footprint, transforming what was once two separate tenancies — while thoughtfully working around the existing structure and services to bring their vision to life.

Embracing the ethos of Seasons of Place — a celebration of local charm, seasonal beauty, and thoughtful design. The transformation showcases the best of what’s grown and made locally, aligning with the natural colours and rhythms of each season rather than competing with them.

Working within the existing building footprint, the design honours what’s already rooted in the community. It’s a sensitive and intentional approach that listens to the space and its surroundings, rather than imposing upon them. From layout to material selection, every decision was guided by a respect for place, people, and the seasonal shifts that shape them.

This is design that feels familiar yet fresh — a space that evolves with the seasons and continues to reflect the character of its local context.
